- Our Progress

As we progress toward the construction of our upcoming addition to FBC Milan, many preparations are being made to help the construction process come to fruition. We get more excited about what God is doing in the life of FBC every step we take! We invite you to read along as we try to keep you informed of our progress. God can do (and is doing!) exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine according to His power working through us! (Ephesians 3:20)

NOVEMBER 19, 2012

Since our last report a lot of things have taken place with our Construction Project. Currently, the contractor is completing the exterior walls, along with the brick, for the entire project. Also, work has begun on the roof and should be completed sometime around Christmas. Once that is completed the project will continue with the interior work such as, walls, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. The Decorating Team has begun working on colors, floors, and furnishings as well.

After the first of the year we should have more parking available on south parking lot. Currently it is the storage area for a lot of the Sub-contractors. If you do park in that area, please use extreme caution when parking and entering the building.

Rhino Construction tells us that we are on target for completion in the Fall of 2013. There have only been 2 or 3 minor setbacks with a minimal loss of time. Please continue to pray for the safety of the workers as well as the entire project. As we anticipate the future ministry of FBC Milan and the opportunities that God has before us, let’s each do our part financially and spiritually to prepare for the days ahead.

APRIL 24, 2012

Well…the time that we have been anxiously anticipating is finally here! On May 14^th the contractor will begin moving onsite to begin the preparation for construction of the Children & Preschool areas and the expansion of our Worship Center. This truly is an exciting time as we begin to see a peek at the future of what God has in store for Milan, FBC.

On Sunday, May 20^th, we will begin worshipping in the Family Life Center and all of the Sunday School classes that are changing rooms will have moved to their new areas. A big "thanks" to all of those individuals and classes for being gracious as we make this transition. Certainly, each person has taken on the attitude of the two “buzz” words, patience and flexibility.

MARCH 11, 2012

During construction, many of our Sunday School classes will be moving to new areas to make room for the construction zone. In preparation for this, there was a need for making a clean sweep of our church and having a cleaning day after one of our church services. March 11, 2012 was marked for this day: our 'Xtreme Clean' Day. We had over 200 volunteers who participated in our Xtreme Clean Day, and we were able to do an incredible amount of clean-up and clean-out of our facilities. Also, we were able to give away many items to some churches that have great needs. One member said, "It was great to see the involvement of so many from different age groups." Another member said, "To see the teamwork . . ."

What an awesome thing it was to see the unity of the church on display and the members being one of the many hands that made the work light. Click on the link below to see just a few pictures from this exciting day!
