FBC Milan

Purpose Statement:

The purpose of the music and worship ministry of FBC Milan is to glorify God as we lead the church in passionate, authentic worship in celebration of who God is and what He has done in our lives. It is also our goal to prepare the hearts and minds of the people for the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, to complement the soul-winning and disciple-making ministries of the church and to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

FBC Worship Choir:
The Worship Choir is a group of adults committed to leading our church in authentic, exciting worship. They lead worship for all Sunday morning services here at FBC in addition to special evening services, revival services, the annual West Tennessee Bible Conference & the Milan Christmas Pageant & other special events.

To join the Worship Choir you must be at least 18 years old, have a desire to grow as a worshipper of Lord Jesus, and be a member of FBC Milan. No audition is required, only an interview with the minister of music and other church staff. Come to any Wednesday rehearsal & a greeter will welcome you and assist you in joining this exciting ministry. The Worship Choir meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:45 pm in the choir room.

Younity:

Younity is an auditioned vocal ensemble open to students grades 9-12. Younity provides special music regularly for worship services throughout the year as well as for special events for the church and community. Members are expected to be faithful to all ministries of the church in which they are involved including regular Sunday School attendance, and Sunday & Wednesday worship service. Members are also expected to live spiritually & morally pure lives and to be accountable to one another.

Student Choir:
The student choir is all about students serving and worshiping God. Students will have the opportunity to use their musical (vocal & instrumental) talent in our Sunday evening worship services and in student worship services. Any students grades 7-12 who has a desire to used his or her vocal or instrumental abilities, no matter what skill level, to glorify God is welcome. The Student Choir meets every 2nd & 4th Sunday afternoon at 5pm in the choir room.

Children’s Choirs:

The Children's Choir program at FBC is a graded choir program that includes children ages 4 thru 6th grade. It is our goal that each child involved in this ministry grows both spiritually & musically. The choirs are divided into three groups: The Learner Choir (ages 4-5), The Music Makers Choir (Grades 1-3) and The Young Musicians Choir (Grades 4-6). These choirs present two musicals each year, one at Christmas and one in the Spring. These choirs meet each Sunday afternoon at 5 pm during the school year.

Praise Band:

The praise band is a group of instrumentalists, high school age and older, who use their talents and abilities to assist in leading worship every Sunday morning and Sunday evening here at FBC. The praise band meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 am in the sanctuary and occasionally on Wednesday evenings at 8 pm.
